Baga Beach Goa – Traveller’s Guide

Baga Beach – boundless enjoyment options

Baga beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in North Goa. It is a famous destination among beaches when it comes to north Goa. It is known as the heart for nightlife and sports activity. The beach shares its coastline with Calangute beach.

The beach is primarily known for its nightlife. It is the only beach where the party never ends, and you can find people at the shore the whole night enjoying with their families and friends. The beach has everything to set your party mood, consisting of music, tasty food, and unique cuisines, beautiful shops, adventure sports, and all with the peaceful sound of the sea.

The exotic beach came to life back in 1960, when a bunch of hippies from San Francisco gathered here to enjoy their summers. Since then, the beach has been the most famous tourist attraction of Goa.

How to reach Baga beach :

    • From Goa International Airport- Dabolim: The beach is only 15kms from the airport.
    • From Vasco de Gama or Madgaon railway station: The beach is about 50kms from the Vasco da Gama railway station.

You can easily book a cab to Baga beach from any of these locations. Even you can opt for buses for cheaper and affordable travel. The bus charges around 15-25Rs per head for the trip, whereas the cab may charge you around Rs. 1000.

I would suggest you book an Airbnb near the Baga beach. So, that when you come with all your luggage, you get time to relax at your Airbnb and then explore north goa. Most of the beaches and other tourist places are nearby to Baga beach, which you can easily cover with a rented scooter or bike.

    Best time for Baga Beach:

The best time to visit Baga beach is the later monsoon and winter season. Goa being in the tropical monsoon climate, is generally hot and humid throughout. So, if you come in winter, you would experience the best season for traveling. Also, the beach is lit during the Christmas season, which is December.

    Water activities at the beach:

Baga beach offers many sports activities. Some of them are

    • Parasailing
    • Jet-skiing
    • Banana riding
    • Bumper riding
    • Kneeboarding
    • Wakeboarding and many others.

    Nightlife at Baga Beach:

When it comes to nightlife, you must not miss some of the fantastic clubs on the shores. Some of them being Club Titos, this nightclub dates back to 1971 and is one of the most happening clubs in north goa. Cafe Mamos is another party club with a lit nightlife. To spice up your evening, even more, they have international DJs and entertainers. Next is the club kamaki, which offers impressive Goan cuisine and delicious food along with parties all night.

Must visit restaurants at the beach:

Jamie’s Restaurant: If you are on a date or your honeymoon, this place must be marked at the top when it comes to food. This beach restaurant serves as the best place for a beautiful romantic dinner date with your partner. You can enjoy all the best cuisines at this resto.

Next comes Fire and Ice restaurant; if you with family and friends, this might serve as the best place to have the best Indian food. The cost of food is also affordable, and the quality is impressive.

You even should not miss Britto’s Bar and restaurant. This beachside restaurant dates back to 1965. The Goan cuisine at the restaurant is a must-try. The iconic hotel has the perfect ambiance, which is very near to the shore, letting you enjoy the best waves music and enjoy healthy and tasty Goan cuisines.

Places to stay near the beach:

There are several resorts in and around Baga beach for you to enjoy your holidays here. But, if you want to look for something more affordable and home like, you must consider the Airbnb.

The Airbnbs are well maintained and serve as holiday homes away from homes. The ambiance of the Airbnb is hostile and clean. I stayed in an Airbnb, which was very near to the beach and was affordable too. But if you like to enjoy the lavish side of the holidays or you are on a honeymoon, you must stay at some of the fantastic resorts at Baga.

    Some of them are :

    • Baga beach resort
    • Nimbus resort
    • Paparazzi resort
    • Fiesta resort

Other places to visit near Baga beach are:

    • Aguada Fort: It is a Portuguese monument that dates back to the 17th century. The Aguada fort faces the Sinquerim beach, which is on the same shore as Baga beach. You can explore the lighthouse present here.
    • Our Lady of Piety: It is a church located at the divar island and dates back to the 1650s. The preferred time to visit the church to explore the best is during the second Sunday of March when the annual feast is carried out.

So, this is pretty much about the famous Baga beach of North Goa. I hope you find the article and my experience helpful in planning your visit to the beach. For more such travel guides with tips, stay tuned.
